Good morning Triathlete,
The day has come to communicate what we would never have wanted, to cancel the 2020 edition of the Northwest Triman.
We have tried with all our might. We have seen the evolution of Covid-19, with the escalation that made us postpone the race, and the de-escalation that encouraged us to continue forward, we have been developing a health protocol for several weeks to guarantee the safety and contagion of Covid-19, we have received ok from the federation, we have seen the celebration of other events, but finally it will not be possible.
Due to the worsening of the situation, and as the pandemic is evolving, with more cases than ever in Galicia, the As Pontes Council has decided to cancel the event. Although it hurts us, we have to be understanding with the decision that the City Council has taken (We attach its Communiqué), respect it and abide by it.
For the 4 athletes who coordinate this event, today is not a good day. We have worked a lot this year, more than others, due to this situation, but what hurts us the most is to think of all the triathletes who have put their hopes into our career, have been training for a long time for it, with what it implies to level, family, work and economic standing at the starting line of a medium or long distance.
We apologize for keeping you on your toes all this time, but we had to try. 3 months ago we believed that this situation would not occur again, but it has not.
That is why to those registered in the 2020 edition of the Northwest Triman we propose these 2 alternatives:
- Maintain registration for June 27, 2021. You will automatically be on the final list for the new date, so you do not have to do anything.
- 100% refund of the registration fee. Although we would love it if you could keep your registration, those who do not like the new date, or who for any other reason, cannot or do not want to participate, will be refunded the full amount, responding to this same email between 1 to 30 September with your complete data, and we will respond to all of you individually.
- As usual, On October 1,(one day after the deadline to request a refund) we will open registrations in both distances to cover casualties that occur in September. The price will be €110 MD and €205 LD. In order not to harm those who registered outside the first day of the bonus period and paid €130 in MD and €225 in LD, and want to maintain their registration, €20 will be returned automatically, you should not do anything.
