TRI-REFLECTIONS. How to be a Larga triathlete with a family…
Many of our sports friends always tell us that they do not go long due to work / family incompatibilities and also ask us how it is possible that they areWe are long distance triathletes and we are still married and having a good time.
As always, you have to be clear about your priorities and understand that sport is simply our hobby. We would go wrong if we neglect work and family…. So once this is clear, the possibilities to train and also obtain a good result go through training in a very organized and scheduled way. More is not always better. This idea is difficult to understand, especially for people who are just starting out, and who think that they must do two disciplines every day or that riding long distances on foot is always more than 2 hours... You can give yourself 10/12 hours a week during the season and the last 10 weeks to increase slightly reaching 16/18. Sleep a little less, optimize time, adapt schedules, and get up early on weekends and above all that the time we spend with our family is of quality, lying on the sofa after 120km by bike is not a very good idea, help at home, go for a walk with your partner, play cards with your children... If your son has a game at 12, train less and go see how he plays, if your boyfriend you know he wants to go to dinner, no think uyyy better not go because tomorrow I have a series….. And above all, do not give the stick all day with your training and what hurts you, or if you hesitate to wear the lenticular or the 53…. It is our passion, not that of our partners, enough that they put up with us.
Trisaludos and train with head
